Dr. John How is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over a decade of experience in the emergency department. He has a special interest in treating musculoskeletal and mental health conditions in people who work or live in high-stress jobs and environments.

John How, MD, RMSK is an experienced healthcare professional with more than 15 years of experience working in emergency departments all over the country. After observing the limitations of conventional medicine and encountering patient frustration with the lack of personalized care, he decided to establish a clinic that prioritized health optimization and holistic medicine.

Expertise

Through extensive training with doctors in a range of specialties, Dr. How has developed expertise in precision ultrasound-guided interventions for conditions such as peripheral nerve entrapment and soft tissue injuries. In addition to running his own clinic, The How Clinic, Dr. How is also passionate about teaching and has joined the clinical faculty for the primary care sports medicine fellowship at UHC SoCal MEC, where he focuses on ultrasound guided diagnosis and treatment and regenerative medicine.

I am passionate about health promotion and disease prevention. I believe in the quality of life over quantity of life and meditation over medication. After 2 decades of medical experience, I have become aware of the shortcomings of allopathic (“Western”) medicine, and that only through an integrative approach can I truly help my patients.

After losing my husband tragically to suicide in 2019, I was compelled to find a better way to alleviate the suffering of those dealing with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I am here to talk about your grief in an open, non-judgmental setting utilizing a variety of approaches to allow you to live alongside your grief.

The foundation of his practice is based on a personalized approach to health care that recognizes the biological uniqueness of each patient. Naturopathic medicine is an evidence-based field of health care that views the body as an interconnected whole and recognizes the importance of these connections in health and disease. In contrast to a conventional care model, which is almost entirely drug based and focused on suppressing symptoms, Dr. Silberman works to eliminate symptoms by addressing the underlying causes of a problem.

She received her medical training at Western University of Health Sciences, graduating top of her class after completing her undergraduate studies in Human Development at UC Riverside, graduating Magnum Cum Laude. She specializes in hormone replacement therapy and is passionate about sexual wellness and women’s health.
